Well it has been a while since I’ve written on the blog so I guess it’s my turn. So what’s been happening I hear you say?
We had some good news last week, the physio told us that she has seen excellent progress with Tomás and it looks like we will be reducing the weekly sessions from twice a week to just once. Also on the medical front, he had an ear test last week and they gave him the all clear for his hearing. So Praise the Lord on both accounts.
At the moment, my in-laws are here spending a few days with their grandson (they fly back on Thursday). Then this weekend we have a conference in church (friday evening, saturday all day and sunday morning) – watch this space to see how well Tomás behaves himself.
Apart from that things are just going by just fine. Unfortunately the big tour of Spain that was planned has not yet taken place due to Tomás’ weekly commitments at the physio. Hopefully once he goes once a week that will allow us to have a little chance for touring.
As far as when we are planning to return to the UK. It now looks like that we will be leaving here at the end of June. We are planning to move from our current flat in Estepona at the end of May and move into a little 1 bed flat in Fuengirola in June (no internet mind, but at least closer to church) Following that we are hoping to return to our flat in London and just see where it goes from there.
I guess that keeps you all uptodate for the moment. Until next time.

Finally, after much faffing, I’ve managed to get the video online, converted into a proper size and format. Watch this space though – now that I know what I’m doing (ish) we will probably put a few more videos on here. Click the “play” button to start movie. Enjoy.

Above Tomas is doing “tummy time” – one of his exercises to improve neck muscles. Usually the smile lasts for 10 seconds…
Meanwhile we hope you all had a very happy Easter. We celebrated by going to church here for the first time. Previously we had been away and made use of the holiday time but as mike is taking an extended break we stayed here. It was nice to be there because they decorated the church with massive palm leaves and had some hot cross buns available. And from memory over the weekend two people became christians so there was even more to celebrate : ).
Since Easter we haven’t been up to much. We’ve met up with some friends and continued with the physio sessions. Really we’re just trying to get into gear regarding where to visit before we leave. Meanwhile it looks like we may have a buyer for our car but we’ll find out for sure this sunday and then once we know we can look for an English plated one here.
Well unfortunately the video proved to be too much to publish and has to be adjusted – something mike will look into at somepoint, so hopefully it will appear soon…
Meanwhile we have been kept busy and have had the pleasure of Andi and Cheryl visiting us. It was a very chilled visit and kept ourselves local to Estepona except for church in Fuengirola of course. They coped very well with the baby and managed to get a full nights sleep most of the time so I don’t think it’s put them off 😉
After their departure we welcomed Dave and Sarah. They visited about the same time a year ago and still came back for more!! We did something new with them which we none of us had done before and that was to go into Malaga. We live so close but for one reason or another it’s never come up on the agenda. That’s where the photo was taken and we were very impressed with the city which has a nice old part and an industrial port along with an old castle to name but a few things.
Certainly somewhere we might go back to if we have the time.
In between site-seeing we kept Tomas’s appointments with the physio and yesterday we saw the doctor who agreed that he was improving but still needed another couple of months worth of therapy. So, it’s good news and the physio also was impressed with him today as he looked completely left (for the first time with her) naturally.
Hi,I just wanted to mention a little prayer request for when you have time. The doctor at Tomas’s last check diagnosed him with congenital torticollis. It sounds grand but it’s basically a stiff neck which they think happened either in the womb or at birth when the ventouse was used. The treatment is physiotherapy and we are going three times a week. As you can imagine it’s not very pleasant for him so the sooner it can be resolved the better 🙂
On a lighter note we are enjoying the company of Andi and Cheryl who have come to meet their new nephew. They stay with us till friday so I’ll be up dating the blog later to mention what we’ve been up to.
Hi, I thought it was about time I put a better picci of Tomas up instead of his miserable look in case you thought he was like it all the time! Having said that he has had reason to look like it as he had two doctors appointments last week. One was for his monthly check where he has to be weighed and pulled about a bit and the other was for his first major set of vaccines – 3 injections !!!Considering the trauma he was very good and didn’t cry too hard…
In fact he probably cried as much when I went to get his passport photo done. Needless to say it’s not a very flattering photo – just as well he won’t last him the rest of his life!
Mike is finding work alot more enjoyable – maybe due to the fact he only has three more working days to go – and we’ll be thinking about what to do when he’s finished. Meanwhile hope everyone is well and also I’d like to say congratulations to David and Sally on the birth of their daughter!!! : )))
