Mikey in London – What did we get up to?

A couple of weeks ago Mikey (Liz’s brother) came down to London for a day of fun and this is what we got up to.

Check out Liz and Mikey enjoying a little brother and sister time at the park:

Server change a success!

After months of silence I am proud to say that the blog now has a new home & it should have lots and lots of updates. 🙂 It will no longer be powered by Blogger but by WordPress, so that should make it a lot more stable. You may notice that some of the spacing on the previous posts is a little “iffy” as they were imported from blogger – from now on they should be ok. So watch this space.

He has a name!

Just to let you all know that the baby now has a name – Daniel John Cartwright. I am in the process of uploading some more videos to give you all a better idea of how lovely little Daniel really is. Be blessed, Mike & Liz

The Cartwrights have landed in Brasil!

Hi everyone, just to let you know that we arrived safely yesterday in Brasil after nearly 24 hours travel (by foot, car, bus and plane!) The weather is hot (as you can expect!) When we left Paris there was snow at 9pm and when we arrived in Sao Paulo the day after it was 21C at 6am in the morning. Talk about a contrast! Anyway the boy slept in the flight and has generally been a little superstar – we couldn´t have wished for more. Mum and dad are doing well and Liz is enjoying the weather a lot. Gotta rush and have dinner but watch this space for more news very soon.

Finally x 2!!

It has come to our attention this blog has some what been neglected over the past few months!! Apologies to everyone. We really do not have any excuses but especially now some of our family are back in Brazil we shall be paying it more attention :).

It was lovely to have Mike’s parents with us during August and September. Not only because they were with us but it also meant a break from doing more DIY! However it has begun again but not on such a large scale.

My mum and dad kindly offered to do something for us and stay for a few days. After plowing through the “to do” list it was agreed that some new banisters would look nice – and they do! They have taken out some wall and put some in spindles opening up the stairs very nicely. There’s abit of finishing off to do but most of the hard graft is done.

Thankfully we have no immediate deadline to meet so it’ll all probably be finished completely when we come back from Brazil.
I’m going to see what photos we have and see if I can remember how to post them!

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phew! We did it!!! We have painted, carpeted, put up curtains, put up lights and emptied boxes all in time for mikes parents to arrive. We have finally got our own bedroom!!! Pictures are to follow as Tomás is about to wake up any minute.

It’s been a long slog and it’s not completely over but we are pleased to say that mike’s mum and dad arrived today and we could offer them a room for a change! I have to go will be back soon with the pics.

Been quiet but busy

Oh well what can I say, the days have gone by and I have managed to not upload an image or video :-(. Sorry. The good news is that all is well in the land of the Cartwrights. Yesterday Andi & I babysat the kids while the wives went off to Ali’s hen do. Not much to report except that we managed to survive the afternoon without the help of our wonderwomen :-). Work has been busy as always the beginning and ends of months are when most things need to be done. I’ve got my annual review next week so we will see how things progress. The rest from the DIY looks like is nearly over as the room downstairs is now nearly ready to be painted – so in the next 3 weeks I can kiss goodbye to easy going evenings, bbqs and just lounging around. We need to have the room fully decorated, carpeted and new couch purchased by the end of this month. Pictures of before and after will be provided :-p

Anyway I’m gonna cut this short as Tomás is shouting at me for some attention. He’s now awake pretty much every day around 6am and is ready for action from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep. It’s all fun really. Talk to you soon.

2 weeks have gone – Shame on me…..

Sorry for the lack of updates – but we’ve been somewhat busy in the last 2 weeks. Just a quick summary before the photos are uploaded though. We are now proud to have a french door in place instead of the old window in our room. It looks great and now allows us direct access to the garden and the bbq area. In fact in the very wet bank holiday weekend we had a barbie – no rain stopped us from entertaining and I can say for sure that the door is a great addition to the room.

Other than that we’ve also been church shopping: We have now attended the Gateway church twice – an Ichthus link church only 10 mins down the road & also New River Church – a City Gates church plant in Islington about 15-20 mins away. This weekend we’re gonna try Tower Hamlets Community Church. Photos are coming :-p

We’ve moved to new servers!

Well I finally decided to take the plunge and move the blog to a more reliable server. Let’s see how it goes. In the next few weeks I will probably convert the whole blog into using wordpress.
