Power is Back!

I am pleased to say we’re back with full power ahead! And we are full steam ahead with painting Tomás’s room. We have done the first three coats on the walls. We have done the ceiling and the door so we are left with the skirting boards, the window frame and the last coat of paint on the walls. We have decided to go green this time and not the traditional blue. Not because we don’t like blue, in fact it’s just the opposite as we have blue in the lounge and in the bathroom so we feel it’s time to change. Having said that the pot of green paint is scarily bright looking so we’ll see if it remains or not!

Other than that we are…okay. Mike is having trouble with his right leg. According to the doctor he has “irritated his sciatic area”. What he said to it I don’t know…. But seriously, he is in alot of pain and I’m sure would appreciate your prayers. Tomás sprung out in a rash which has steadily spread across his whole body and hasn’t been sleeping very well the past couple of nights. The doctor thinks it’s an allergic reaction to food but which food I don’t know so I’m playing it safe at the moment. He got given some cream as well so we shall see how he goes.

I am well though on a brighter note! I’ll get some photos taken of the room. We forgot to take some of it before we started so it will have to be half way through so until then!

Am much better thankyou

As you may or may not know I was a victim of the norovirus last week and I can safely say I do not remember being so ill before! It was the worst thing I have come across for a while but I shall spare you the details and say I’m much better now :).

However because of this we haven’t been up to much. We did visit another church last Sunday as Mike was asked to lead worship. It was a baptist church in Angel and made a nice change. Tomás was abit unstoppable at times wanting to be everywhere but he enjoyed himself! He really likes going out and about exploring.

The Shofar Church

Well I am pleased to say with no natural daylight and being in the basement room we slept in till 0830 this morning and Tomás did not miss us one bit! The smell of paint however was a little overwhelming so I think we shall need to leave the door open so we don’t both wake up with splitting headaches.

Today we enjoyed a visit to our friends church in Tooting. It’s part of a network of churches (www.shofarworld.com) which originated in South Africa. We very much enjoyed it and liked the enthusiasm the people had for the UK. It was very refreshing and a blessing and the preach was excellent 🙂

These piccis are for our Brazilian family and friends. Although It’s grey and cold, it’s summer indoors! We thought we should at least encourage him to wear his little havaianas 🙂

Welcome to the London Blog!

Hello and welcome to our UK blog! We found it so useful while we were in Spain that we have decided to keep it going and yes we know it’s taken us along time but hey – time and technology- what more needs to be said?

We hope you have all had a good Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. We went up to my parents (liz) for a few days and enjoyed some good food and company as well as pressies. Tomas enjoyed the Christmas tree decorations the most followed closely by his presents. However it has to be said that it was the male members of the family who enjoyed Tomas’s presents more than he did! What’s that saying about men never really growing up?

The big milestone for us though was buying Tomas his first pair of shoes! He’s been walking for about a month but we wanted to wait for the sales until parting with the cash. It took him a couple of hours to get used to them but he looks very grown up now – ahhhh And of course he turned a year old on 17th Dec so thank you for all your cards and pressies. We had a little party for him with some other babies 🙂 I’m just seeing what photos we have…
